FA Cup winners Arsenal have joined the race for talented Porto forward Yacine Brahimi, according to Sky Italia.
Manager Arsene Wenger is said to be on red alert about the Algerian, who joined the Portuguese outfit last summer from Granada. Brahimi has mainly been featuring as a left winger for the Champions League quarter-finalists, a position from which he scored thirteen goals in his debut season, including an impressive five goals in the group stages of Europe’s top club competition.
However, this may be a difficult signing for the Gunners to complete as Brahimi reportedly has a release clause of 50 million euros as part of his contract, a huge fee that means Porto do not have to sell the Algerian international for any less. As well as this, various clubs are in the running for the 25-year-old including Bayern Munich, so Arsenal could find themselves in quite the transfer battle in order to secure his service.
Brahimi has also impressed on the international stage, having scored in the World Cup last summer, a tournament that Algeria impressed in as they reached the knockout stages for the first time in their history.
