Campbell to Sociedad a Possibility

Campbell to Sociedad a Possibility

After failing to seal a deal for ex-Burnley forward Danny Ings, it seems that David Moyes and his Real Sociedad side are set to make a move for Arsenal’s Joel Campbell, who has failed to convince manager Arsene Wenger of his worth.

Speaking to TV station Teledonosti, Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay said: “He [Campbell] is an interesting player for La Real.

“However, at this time there is no negotiation regarding a transfer. We have to analyse the financial conditions that this transfer would pose.”

Since joining Arsenal in 2011, Campbell has been loaned out on four seperate occasions, to French side Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos where he impressed with his performances including scoring a UEFA Champions League goal against Manchester United and most recently has been loaned to Villarreal as part of the deal to bring Gabriel Paulista to North London.

With Campbell making only seven senior appearances for the Gunners and much competition in the team for places, it appears the 22 year-old Costa Rican international’s time at the club is coming to a close.
