Arsenal are keeping tabs on Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell, according to The Mirror.
Manager Arsene Wenger has asked his scouting squad to make consistent checks on the 18-year-old target.
The interest in the England U19 star is likely to be one that would help improve the youth side at Arsenal, with Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal performing adequately enough at left-back for the first team.
This follows academy director Andries Jonker stating that the North London side need ‘more of the best youngsters’. Wenger is said to be considering whether or not to make an offer for the defender, as interest in Ipswich’s Tyrone Mings seems to be off the radar at the moment.
Chilwell has had some consistent game time this campaign, with the Englishman being a regular in the U21 side for the Foxes. If a deal does go ahead, it is one that is more than likely concerning the future rather than the present.
