Joel Campbell is heading for a permanent transfer to Turkish giants Fenerbache, according to reports.
The Costa Rican forward has returned to Arsenal following a loan spell at Villarreal and it appears as if Arsene Wenger doesn’t rate his chances of breaking into the first team any time soon.
Turkish newspaper Hurriyet is reporting that a deal between Fenerbache and Arsenal could be close, with the Turkish club willing to stump up £8 million to take the player to the club.
Campbell only signed a new contract at the club in January, but speculation over his exit has been rife ever since the season finished.
Despite a promising World Cup, Campbell has failed to live up to expectations and it seems as if his days at the club are numbered. A player who showed flashes, but couldn’t quite put it together.
