# ‘Principle Agreement’ for Porto Star

Reportedly a long-term Arsenal target, Jackson Martínez may finally be making his move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, if the press in Portugal are to be believed.

Publication *Jordal di Noticias* have today been reporting that there is a pre-contract deal agreed for the big front man, and that Arsenal will go on to sign him in the summer. They describe it as a ‘principle agreement’ – which would be around £24.8m, his current buyout clause.

The 28-year-old has always scored goals in his career, and boasts the astute ratio of 67 goals in 89 league games for Porto as a result. He’s also proved to be a force to be reckoned with in Europe, scoring 7 goals in 7 starts this season in the Champions’ League – a truly fantastic record.

With Olivier Giroud continually frustrating despite his excellent form and Danny Welbeck not the answer in the eyes of most, will Arsenal bring in a new face to spearhead the line? And will Arsène Wenger be heading to Portugal for the answer? All will unfold in the next few months. Sit tight.
