Arsene Wenger has retorted Jose Mourinho’s “very boring” scoffs last weekend, taking aim at Jose’s overall attitude in today’s news conference ahead of Arsenal’s Monday night clash with Hull.
After last weekends goalless draw against Chelsea, sections of the Emirates crowd chanted “boring, boring Chelsea” in response to a defensive approach to the second half, which saw Chelsea move one step closer to the Premier League title.
In his post-match news conference, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho responded to the crowds taunts, saying:
“You support the club and you’re waiting, waiting, waiting for so many years without a Premier League title, so that’s very boring.”
Today, when asked for his thoughts on Mourinho’s post-match statements, Wenger practically yawned at the comments by responding:
“The biggest thing for a manager is to respect other managers. Some people have to improve on that. Look, everybody lives with his own internal problems and I live with mine. That’s enough.”
This is the latest in a back and forth between the two managers that is growing as old as the ‘Ronaldo or Messi?’ debate. With Wenger’s ‘let’s all just get along’ message (with a little sting in the tail for Mourinho), and Chelsea set to win another Premier League title this year, odds are out on a sudden change of heart between the pair.
