Arsenal are closing in on the signing Espanyol defender Hector Moreno.
Despite interest coming from Tottenham and Manchester United, Moreno has expressed a desire to play under Arsène Wenger at the Emirates.
Reports claim that he has told his agent to set up a move to North London this summer after he caught the eye of Arsenal scouts with a number of positive performances.
The Mexican centre-back is valued at £15 million and would certainly fit the archetypal ‘Wenger signing’.
Another player that has been heavily linked with Arsenal is Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain. The player was associated with Arsenal even before moving to Italy and it looks like the Gunners are winning the race for the Argentinian.
According to reports in Italy, Higuain could finally become an Arsenal player by the end of the season despite interest from Juventus. The Argentinian striker would cost £28.9 million and would likely demand more than his current £57,000-a-week at the Italian club. The transfer looks increasingly possible as Arsenal could have up to £50 million available for transfers this summer.
