Arsenal have agreed a deal, in principle, to complete the signing of Villarreal’s Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista for a fee thought to be in the region of £11.5 million. It is Arsenal’s second signing of the January transfer window, after the club confirmed the signing of young Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik last week.
Paulista played a total of 49 times for Villarreal, who bought him in 2013 from Brazilian side Vitoria. He is yet to win a cap for Brazil.
Villarreal confirmed the news on their official Twitter account.

The deal will see forward Joel Campbell join the Spanish club on loan until the end of the 2014-15 season. Sanogo, Podolski and now Campbell have all departed during this window. Does this create room for an attacking transaction? Let us know your thoughts below.
