During today’s presser, Arsene Wenger confirmed what we had all suspected for weeks: Krystian Bielik will be signing for Arsenal. While only 17 years of age, Bielik is believed to be a candidate for a first team role.
The Polish youngster is somewhat of an unknown quantity, however he is highly rated by everyone who has watched him properly. Dubbed “the new Vieira,” Bielik is known for his power, technique and discipline from the center of the pitch. “He’s a physical player with good skills. He has a very good understanding of the game and match mentality,” stated Legia Warsaw manager Henning Berg.
Bielik’s excitement ahead of the move is well documented, with the Pole being quoted earlier saying “I’m going to London to fulfill my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon.” He also attributed his willingness to chose Arsenal over Hamburg to manager Arsene Wenger, saying “First of all, [I chose Arsenal] because of the person of manager Arsene Wenger. He is a legend, the boss as they call him at Arsenal.”
While Bielik won’t be a crucial player right off the bat, he provides Arsenal with a genuine top midfield prospect for the future. The 17 year old has all the makings of a brilliant Premier League player, and Arsenal is the perfect place for him to truly reach his potential. He isn’t the answer to Arsenal’s defensive midfield problems just yet, but Krystian Bielik could prove to be a very astute signing by Arsene Wenger.
