Striker Yaya Sanogo has joined Crystal Palace on loan today for the remainder of the 2014-2015 season, a move that has been expected for some time now. The deal was confirmed this morning by the South London club.
While evidently talented, the Frenchman has found consistent playing time tough to come by at the Emirates. Because of this, Arsene Wenger has deemed it necessary to send him out on loan, saying “Sanogo will go out on loan. My option is preferably England.” It seems Wenger believes that the best thing for Sanogo would be to further his development by gaining crucial Premier League experience, while being in a situation that would provide him with the necessary minutes as well.
Sanogo has made 6 appearance for the Gunners this season, tallying his first ever competitive goal for the club against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stages. Injuries have limited his progress to some degree, however he’s looked sharp and determined when given the opportunity to play.
Yaya Sanogo could very well have a bright future at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger appears to be a keen admirer of the lanky Frenchman, who seems incredibly driven to succeed at Arsenal. Sanogo is still quite a raw prospect, however his talent is there for for everyone to see. A Premier League loan move seems to be the most logical next step in his development.
