Laurent Koscielny was stretchered off in Arsenal’s away leg at Atletico Madrid on Thursday evening with a torn Anchilles injury.
The Frenchman started his side’s semi-final clash in the Europa League at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano but was unable to finish, with him being forced off early on in the first-half.
Koscielny went down in a great deal of pain and appeared to be clutching his Achilles. The experienced defender has encountered plenty of injury woes in recent months and his Achilles is known to be somewhat vulnerable, meaning that this injury is cause for concern.

With BT Sport having confirmed the injury at half-time, the Frenchman’s season is certainly over, which could be a huge blow if Arsenal are able to qualify for the final of the tournament.
While a timeline for his recovery hasn’t yet been formed, Koscielny will certainly be unavailable for the World Cup in Russia, which is just a month away.
It will serve as a major blow to Didier Deschamps, who was sure to have been keen to include the Arsenal man in his squad.
