Jack Wilshere’s future at Arsenal looks to be heading in the right direction with the midfielder adamant he will stay at the North London Club.
The England international’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and there have been reports that he will be a free agent in the transfer window.
Wilshere, who is yet to agree to an extension, was linked with moves to the likes of, Liverpool, Everton, Wolves, and the champions Manchester City, but Wenger is, according to Goal, confident that Wilshere will agree to a new offer before the World Cup preparations begin.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilshere said:
We are still in the same position really. Not much has changed. We are still talking.
However, a report from Goal.com says that the midfielder has maintained that ‘Arsenal is where he wants to be’.
He said:
To be honest with you, I haven’t really thought about [moving somewhere else]. I have said before that is where I want to be and I have not really had much time to think about moving clubs.
Speculation about Wilshere’s future has been growing over the last weeks with manager Arsene Wenger admitting that he is unsure of Wilshere’s intentions.
Another report from Goal.com, says that Wilshere will agree to a new deal and avoid the free agency.
Perry Groves believes Jack Wilshere will sign a new deal that would keep him at the club, long term.

Groves said:
I think Jack Wilshere will definitely stay at Arsenal this summer.
There’s not many players who have the vision he has and everything he does is about moving forwards.
Jack Wilshere would be a big miss because his soul is at the club and the fans love him.
