Arsenal have reportedly been alerted by Dries Mertens’ contractual situation at Napoli.
According to claims from Calciomercato, the Serie A side are desperate to tie their star attacker down to an extended contract at Napoli, with the club’s president making the renewal his top priority for the summer.
Arsenal are stated to be an interested party in Mertens, with his previous negotiations with Napoli having reached an impasse.

The Belgian international has gone from strength to strength under Maurizio Sarri and although it’s understood that he is happy in Naples, a move to the Premier League may yet be an attractive proposition.
Mertens has netted 17 Serie A goals this season and has been a pivotal part of Napoli’s push to secure the league title. The Italian side will be desperate to tie their star man down to an extended deal in the summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United both cited with interest.
