Manchester City are keen for Patrick Vieira not to take over at Arsenal this summer, according to the Mirror.
The former Gunners midfielder has been linked with the soon-to-be vacant position at the Emirates.
Vieira is highly thought of both by Manchester City and Arsenal, having been linked with both first-team jobs in the past.
The Frenchman is currently in charge of New York City in the MLS, Manchester City’s sister side.

Reports have suggested in the past that City themselves see Vieira as a possible contender to take over in the dugout at the Etihad later in his career.
Vieira is not the only former Arsenal player to be linked with the job. Mikel Arteta, also of the Manchester City coaching staff, is being touted as a possible successor.
City are keen to keep both of them, rather than lose one of them to a divisional rival.
