Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles has offered an apology to the travelling Gunners supporters after his side lost out late on to Manchester United, according to the Evening Standard.
It was a much-improved performance from the Gunners but, they still lost the game and now face a big test against Atletico Madrid on Thursday night in the Europa League.
Arsene Wenger made a whole host of changes for the game, with that encounter in Madrid in mind and Maitland-Niles played a vital role in this Premier League clash.

The returning Henrikh Mkhitaryan grabbed a goal as he came back to Old Trafford for the first time in what was a fine showing from the January signing.
A sixth-place finish is sealed for Arsenal and their season’s success rests largely on their Europa League campaign, adding only further pressure to the second leg of the semi-final tie.
Maitland-Niles fronted up following the game:
It is so unfortunate to fight so hard and then to go down so late in the game. Words can’t describe how we feel right now and apologies to the fans to let them down late on.
I love playing centre midfield and to do that for Arsenal at Manchester United in the Premier League is a dream come true.
