Arsenal star hints at summer stay despite links to other clubs
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has hinted that he won’t be leaving the Emirates this summer, after requesting the number two on the back of his shirt next season.
Sky Sports report that the player’s agent revealed there was interest in his services last month, but no concrete offers were made.
That interest is believed to be from Manchester United and Juventus, but the Spaniard is happy in North London having signed a contract until 2023 last season.
Bellerin has worn the number 24 shirt since making his first-team debut in 2015, but now wants the more commonly recognised right-back’s number previously worn by Mathieu Debuchy.
In a video on the club’s official youtube channel, Bellerin said:
In the summer, I’m going to ask for the number two shirt. I’ve already spoken to Vic, he knows.
Bellerin has been a regular in the Gunners line-up this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions and scoring three times in the process.
