According to reports from Sky Sports, Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis feels Mikel Arteta could be the perfect man to replace Arsene Wenger as the club’s first-team manager.
Gazidis is set to be heavily involved in the process of helping Arsenal appoint a new permanent manager, with Sky Sports claiming that he will ultimately recommend a new head coach to the Gunners’ owner Stan Kroenke.
Arteta is one of many options who Arsenal are considering as Wenger’s successor, with the Frenchman confirming on Friday that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Spaniard is understood to be held in high esteem by the top brass at Arsenal, especially given his previous ventures in North London as the team’s captain during his playing days.
Arteta is currently a part of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City and is being tipped for a bright future in the game as a manager, with Arsenal seemingly interested.
