Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Joao Felix from Benfica this summer, according to a report from Portuguese news outlet O Jogo.
It has been another frustrating season for the North London club as unless they manage to win the Europa League, they look set to miss out on qualification for the Champions League for next season.
There is a £52 million release clause in the Felix’s contract, if reports are to be believed, but it seems that his current club Benfica would be happy to accept lower offers in the region of £35m this summer.
The youngster hasn’t yet played for the senior team at Benfica but has represented his country, Portugal at Under-21 level.
A number of other clubs including Manchester City and Manchester United are showing a heavy interest in the player as the battle to sign the promising youngster heats up.
Felix is clearly a promising player, but spending a sum of £35m and potentially upwards would be a huge risk for potential suitors.
