Reported Arsenal target Kerem Demirbay has all but ended any hopes of a move to the Emirates by signing a new four-year contract with Hoffenheim.
The 24-year-old was a rumoured target for Arsene Wenger but it looks like he’ll be staying put in Germany after putting pen to paper on a deal that lasts until the end of the 2022 season.
Hoffenheim’s director of football Alexander Rosen told his club’s official website that Demirbay’s contract extension was “a strong signal, both internally and externally, and underpins that we are resolutely pursuing our ambitious and successful path from recent years”

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and with Jack Wilshere looking like he might leave the club on a free transfer, Demirbay was being lined up as a possible replacement.
However, he’ll now be staying in Germany so the Gunners will need to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements.
