Arsenal are set to be landed a blow in their pursuit of Elseid Hysaj, with the defender poised to sign a new deal with Napoli.
In recent days, the Gunners have been linked with an audacious swoop for the right-back as they look to bolster their defence. However, it seems the Albanian international will put pen to paper on an improved contract in Naples.
The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength under Maurizio Sarri this season and has consequently attracted plenty of interest. Hysaj has been courted by top clubs in Europe, including Arsenal and Manchester United.

Italian news outlet Il Mattino, as cited in a report from talkSPORT, state that the contract is likely to include a release clause worth £45m, which will enable potential suitors to discuss a move with Hysaj should they cough up the money.
Hysaj for now, though, will be intent on helping Napoli continue their title charge in Serie A.
