England manager Gareth Southgate has allayed fears that Arsenal star Jack Wilshere will face an extended period of time on the sidelines.
Wilshere was expected to feature in England’s friendly match against Netherlands tomorrow but did not travel as a result of a minor injury sustained in training this morning.
The midfielder has been in good form for Arsenal this season and the knock comes as a huge blow to him in his bid to impress Southgate ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

Southgate addressed the media this evening ahead of his side’s game against Ronald Koeman’s side and insisted that there is still a chance that Wilshere will be available for selection for Tuesday’s game between England and Italy.

This news will undoubtedly come as a boost to Arsenal, given Wilshere’s importance to the team. Although his knee issues are continuing to prevail, it seems the injury in England training was merely a knock.
