Arsenal midfielder wanted by PL rivals as summer exit looks likely
Everton are reportedly ready to take advantage of Jack Wilshere’s contract negotiations taking longer than expected by making a big money move for the England midfielder, according to The Daily Mail.
Arsene Wenger has said that negotiations with Wilshere over a contract extension were to begin in December but there has been no conclusion to this saga.
It is believed that Wenger wants to give Wilshere a pay cut, which he does not wish to take although he does wish to stay at Arsenal. But the Gunners have not given him an improved offer.
Sam Allardyce is said to be offering £80,000 per week to Wilshere for a move to Merseyside.
With the main contract stories of the season going to Alexis Sanchez, who left for Manchester United, and Mesut Ozil who has since signed on at the Emirates, Wilshere has gone under the radar.
And so he will become a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t sign an extension at Arsenal, with Everton free to make a move.
It is believed that Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are also keen on Wilshere, but he wishes to stay in England, with the Toffees looking like the most likely to grab his signature.
