Arsenal make Germany international midfielders wanted by Bayern their top summer transfer target
According to the Evening Standard, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have made Max Meyer a top priority signing for this summer.
Meyer is one of the most promising midfielders in Europe, with many of the top European sides being very interested in his services.
Bayern Munich are the side which have been the most heavily linked with the German international, however, Arsenal are prepared to hijack the Bundesliga champions’ move for the Schalke midfielder this summer.
Bayern have already signed Schalke midfielder, Leon Goretzka on a free transfer, and will join Bayern at the end of this campaign, Goretzka was also a target for Arsenal.
Meyer came through the youth ranks at Schalke, and finally made his break into the first team in 2013.
Since then, he has made 188 appearances for them, scoring 22 goals as well as getting 24 assists.
He made his international debut in 2014, in a 0-0 draw with Poland and he’s only got four caps for the German national side, scoring one goal, but he could be an influential figure in their World Cup campaign at the end of this season, which could increase interest in him.
