Manchester United name their price for Arsenal target
Arsenal will need to pay £25 million if they are to land centre-back target Chris Smalling from Manchester United in the summer, according to the Daily Star.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of the player for some time after his side’s struggles in central defence and with Smalling’s United career in doubt, he could make a move.
Arsenal were linked with West Brom defender Jonny Evans throughout the window and it’s now thought that United are using the valuation from Evans as a guide for the fee they’ve set on Smalling.
It’s thought that United would be keen to do business with the Gunners to get Smalling off their books at the end of the season.
United have been linked with a number of other central defenders as they attempt to find someone to play alongside Eric Bailly in heart of the defence.
The former England international, Smalling has played a number of games this season for the club, appearing in 31 games. However, it seems his time at the club is up.
