Arsenal will be without Alexandre Lacazette for around six weeks after the striker had minor surgery on a knee injury, as reported by John Cross of the Mirror.
The news will come as a huge blow for Arsenal as they look to make a push at a Europa League and League Cup double, whilst they bwon’thave given up hope of securing a top four finish either.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not eligible to play in the Europa League after he was named in Borussia Dortmund’s squad for the knockout stages prior to his transfer to the Gunners, which means Danny Welbeck is the only senior striker available for the competition.
Lacazette has found himself out of the team in recent weeks but he’ll still be a huge miss for Arsene Wenger as he looks to keep his squad fresh for the remainder of the season.
Baring any complications, Lacazette should be back in action around late March.
