Arsenal have offered a contract to Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup in an attempt to snap him up on a free transfer.

According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Arsenal have made their move for Ozyakup as they already look to strengthen their side ahead of next season.

The club could be making their move in anticipation of Aaron Ramsey or Jack Wilshere leaving the club.

Both players are entering the final months of their contracts, with Arsenal looking to tie both of them down to longer-term deals.

Ozyakup has played 208 games for Besiktas since he left Arsenal to join the Turkish giants.

He played two senior games for Arsenal after breaking through the academy set-up, before being sold to Besiktas for £500k.

Five years on and it appears as though Ozyakup could be set for a return to The Emirates in the summer.

The 25-year-old has impressed for Besiktas and Turkey over the last few seasons.
