Arsenal are in pole position to make former Bayern Munich and Real Madird manager Carlo Ancelotti their next head coach.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Ancelotti wants to stay within club football and is not interested in the switch to managing a national side.
This has given Arsenal a boost in their pursuit of the Italian, who has also seemingly ruled out a move to Italy.
Ancelotti has said that Italian football has too many problems and that he, alone, is not good enough to fix them all.
This has opened to the door to a move to Arsenal, and return to the Premier League, with Arsene Wenger’s future still up in the air.
The report also claims that Tottenham are interested, if Real Madrid were to pry Mauricio Pochettino from them in the summer.
If Arsenal fail to qualify for the Champions League for the second successive season, Wenger could be replaced by Ancelotti.
