Arsenal have had a £35m bid rejected by Juventus for defender Mehdi Benatia, according to The Express.
The report claims that Juventus have dismissed Arsenal’s attempt to sign the defender, as they look to hold out for a larger fee.
Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window as they look to make a move for a top four finish in the second half of the season.
The club are currently 6th in the Premier League table, four points off fourth-placed Liverpool – although Arsenal have a game in-hand.

Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Benatia and wants him to improve his defence.
Benatia has played eight Serie A matches this season, with fierce competition ahead of him.
He could be tempted by a switch to the Premier League, and guaranteed game time under Wenger at Arsenal in England.
The report does not claim how much Juventus are looking for.
