Sevilla president plays down Arsenal N’Zonzi rumours
Despite Steven N’Zonzi being in London this week, Sevilla president Jose Castro says his club have not received any offers from Arsenal for the midfielder, according to a report from ESPN.
The former Stoke midfielder left the Potters for Sevilla back in 2015, and has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger over the course of the last 12 months.
The midfielder hasn’t been involved in the last three games for the La Liga side, amid reports of unrest. N’Zonzi has a buy out clause of €40 million, however, with the players seemingly unsettled, Wenger may look to bring the midfielder back to the Premier League in January.
The Gunners are thought to be keen on the player, who made 37 starts in all competitions for Sevilla during his debut season, helping the side win the Europa League.
When asked about N’Zonzi, Castro told the club’s website
There is no offer whatsoever for N’Zonzi. If we received one, we would study it, but he is training normally, not apart from the squad.
