Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly set to be offered a new contract at the club amid interest from fellow Premier League sides West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

According to the Mirror, Arsene Wenger has been impressed by Wilshere in his limited performances so far this season and is looking to reward the Englishman by extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

It was reported last week that Wilshere is considering his future at the club, with the World Cup in Russia next summer looming — the 25-year-old needs consistent game time as he looks to start for Gareth Southgate at the tournament.

Wilshere has not featured in the Premier League yet this season, although he has started in both the Carabao Cup and the Europa League. However, his manager has liked what he has seen in those appearances, and the Mirror’s report states that Wenger is willing to offer Wilshere a new four year contract at the club.

Wilshere has been a member of the Gunners’ senior squad since the 2008-09 season, but has only made 161 appearances for the club since then, averaging just 16 per season — he has been blighted by injuries and will now be hoping to kick on and stay fit to prove himself in the Premier League.
