Arsenal ‘make contact’ for Arda Turan
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan’s representatives ahead of a January move.
According to reports from CNN Turk, as covered by Inside Futbol, the Gunners are upping their efforts to sign the former Atletico Madrid man as they look to secure more quality in the winter transfer window.
Turan has not been a success since joining Barcelona, and has only ever been a fringe player. This has led to continuous speculation surrounding his future at the club, with Arsenal still being linked.
The report states that Turan would be keen to look into a potential move to the Emirates, while Barcelona would be open to selling the Turkish international should a reasonable offer come in.
Arsenal are at risk of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in January, as Arsene Wenger has already conceded, and Turan could be targeted as a replacement for either.
Galatasaray have also been linked with a move for Turan.
