Ozil must win back his starting spot says Wenger
Mesut Ozil’s place in the Arsenal starting XI is no longer guaranteed according to his manager.
The Express reports that Arsene Wenger has fired a warning in Ozil’s direction as he prepares to fight for his place in the team against Watford.
Of course he [Ozil] is important, but I have many players, we speak about Jack and we speak about Iwobi. They are all players who play in this similar position and it is very interesting because it gives me a lot of opportunities to keep them all focused and refreshed.
Mesut is working hard now, he is only one week back in training, since Monday he has joined in. He has worked hard.
Ozil has spent time on the sideline already this season with a knee injury halting his game time.
A somewhat disappointing start to the season has seen Ozil fall out of favour with Jack Wilshere returning to full fitness and impressing when given the chance.
The German is out of contract next season and talks continue about a new deal at the club with both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez being linked with moves away from the club.
