Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their attempts to tie Mesut Ozil down to a new deal, after Ozil’s agent, Dr Erkut Sogut admitted that the German international wants to play in the Premier League for two or three more years, Turkish Futbol report.
Ozil, 28, has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce or Beskitas after his contract expires at the end of the season, however, Sogut claimed that his client would love to stay in the Premier League, boosting the Gunners hopes of Ozil putting pen to paper on a new deal to remain at the Emirates.
The playmaker, who joined Arsenal back in 2013, has endured a restless start to the season, with a knee injury keeping him on the sidelines for the majority of the season so far, and is yet to register a goal or an assist this campaign.
Ozil’s agent Sogut admitted to the Turkish media that contract talks are underway with Arsenal, saying:
Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well.
