Everton preparing January bid for Giroud
Everton will test Arsenal’s resolve in January as Ronald Koeman prepares a £40 million bid for French striker, Olivier Giroud.
The Mirror reports that the Everton boss will push for a deal to be completed after he failed to sign the French striker during the summer.
Giroud was linked with a move to Goodison Park to replace Romelu Lukaku, who left for Manchester United during the transfer window.
A move to Goodison did not materialise and Everton were unable to complete a deal to sign a striker to replace Lukaku’s goals.
The French forward has fallen out of favour at The Emirates following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.
Giroud is said to be interested in the idea of joining Everton with one eye on the World Cup next year.
Regular first-team football in the Premier League will be key to his chances of making the French squad.
