Arsenal keen to land Germany midfielder
Arsenal have long been linked with a move for Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, and the Mirror claim that a January move is being lined up by the club.
The report states that Arsene Wenger is looking to act on his evident interest in the German international, and will lodge a bid when the transfer window re-opens as he looks to mount a challenge for the top four.
It’s claimed by the Mirror that Arsenal’s top scouts have been monitoring Goretzka’s progress in the Bundesliga, as the versatile midfielder continues to impress for Schalke.
The 22-year-old’s contract with the German club expires in the summer, and a host of top clubs across Europe are said to be tracking his situation, with Arsenal ready to pounce.
Goretzka is claimed to be keen preferrably on a switch to either Bayern Munich or Barcelona, but the Gunners will hope to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in the near future.
