Arsenal looking to offer Welbeck and Ramsey new contracts
Arsenal are set to offer Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey new contracts at the club, according to The Guardian.
The report claims that Arsene Wenger is keen to tie the duo down to long-term deals, in an attempt to avoid being in another Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil situation.
Ozil and Sanchez – arguably Arsenal’s two most valuable players – are both in the last year of their deals.
This means that Arsenal could lose them both on free transfers next summer, unless they extend their contracts.
Sanchez looks unlikely to sign a new contract, whilst Ozil could still commit his long-term future to the club.
Welbeck and Ramsey are both out of contract at the end of next season and Arsenal are set to begin discussions over extensions.
Former Manchester United striker Welbeck is set to be out of action until the middle of October after his injury last weekend.
