Arsenal yet to re-open Ozil contract talks
According to reports in Germany, as cited by talkSPORT today, Arsenal are yet to re-open contract discussions with Mesut Ozil.
It’s been well documented for some time now that the Gunners have struggled to reach an agreement with the German international. However, it looks as though no fresh approach has been made by the club.
Ozil’s current deal at the Emirates expires in the summer of 2018, meaning that Arsenal must extend his contract or risk losing him for free at the end of the season, unless a bid is accepted for the former Real Madrid man in January.
The reports from Sport Bild, who talkSPORT quote, claim that Arsenal’s most recent talks with Ozil were held back in February, and nothing has changed since.
The Gunners offered Ozil a lucrative new deal earlier on in the year but the two parties could not come to an agreement, leaving the experienced midfielder’s future as uncertain as ever.
