Alexis Sanchez is doubtful for Arsenal’s trip to Bournemouth after being branded as ‘fat’ by one of his old coaches.

Sanchez has been on international with Chile this week where a £60m move to Manchester City collapsed.

The Chilean is set to be left to work on his fitness regime after being criticised for his fitness during his time with Chile.

Chile’s former U20 and U17 coach Jose Sulantay believes that he has seen a change in Sanchez’s condition.

I saw him gone. I saw him out of physical shape, totally. He’s fatter than normal.

Chile slumped to two defeats in the World Cup qualifiers, losing to Paraguay and Bolivia which has put their World Cup hopes in jeopardy.

Sulantay believes the chaos of transfer deadline day has led to Sanchez losing his spark.

Without his spark, he never left that Paraguayan defence behind. He never made a diagonal run, it was something else. It was not Alexis.

This can bring you problems later, the statements of wanting to leave.

After failing to get the Chilean attacker in the summer, City are set to comeback in January with a £20m bid.
