Our Arsenal man of the match: Leicester (H)
Arsenal kicked off the Premier League season with three points on Friday night as they beat Leicester 4-3 at The Emirates.
Alexandre Lacazette, on his Premier League debut, opened his account after two minutes. The forward pounced on a cross and powered a header into the bottom corner from 12-yards.
Leicester then turned on the accelerator as they scored twice – through Okazaki and Vardy – to turn the tables and lead 2-1.
Danny Welbeck was able to prod home an equaliser in the 45th minute as Sead Kolasinac squared him the ball from close range.
Jamie Vardy regained the lead for Leicester at the start of the season half as he found space in the box to head home a corner from reported Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez.
Substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud then sealed the win in fashion as they both scored with under ten minutes to play.
Picking a man of the match for Arsenal has been hard, with many seeing the performance as an average one for the Gunners.
However, I have gone with Alexandre Lacazette as my man of the match against Leicester.
Considering it was his first league match in English football it was an impressive display from the striker.
Lacazette was able to score, brilliantly, early on and play his part throughout the game.
He pushed the ball through for Kolasinac to set-up Welbeck for the equaliser just before half-time and always looked like a danger going forward for Arsenal.
The Frenchman worked hard and won the ball back in and around the box to regain possession for Arsenal.
So, Lacazette is our man of the match! Do you agree? Vote in the poll below…
