AS Roma are hoping to finalise a deal for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez as their Director of Football flies out to the United States to hold talks with the Italian club’s Chairman, according to a report on Sport Witness.
Premier League club Arsenal have registered their interest in Mahrez this summer with manager Arsene Wenger looking to bolster his attack and maybe prepare for life without Chilean star Alexis Sanchez.

Wenger was keen to bring Mahrez to the Emirates last season but chose against it and now the winger is looking to leave Leicester City with Roma now leading the line for his signature.
The Italian club have had one offer rejected for Mahrez as the Premier League club said that it did not meet their valuation.
An offer of around £30m plus add ons for the winger could be enough for Leicester to let the 2015/16 PFA Player of the Year go.

Arsenal have had plenty of opportunities to make a move for Mahrez but it seems that Wenger has crossed the winger off his list of transfer targets.
However, Wenger could be waiting for the future of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be resolved before signing another winger.
AS Roma have sufficient funds following the sale of Mohamed Salah to Liverpool for £36.9m and see Mahrez as the perfect replacement.
