Arsenal near Chambers agreement with Palace
Crystal Palace look to be edging ever closer to securing a big money move for Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.
According to a report from the Guardian today, the Eagles have not been put off by Arsenal rejecting their opening offer worth £16m, and are still in talks over a move.
The Gunners have been widely reported to value the England Under-21 international at around £20m, which is a fee that could easily be considered as too steep for potential suitors such as Palace. However, the report from the Guardian goes as far as saying that Arsene Wenger wants £25m for his versatile defender.
Frank de Boer is clearly an admirer of the former Southampton defender, having been impressed by his capability to play in a range of different systems.
And despite the deal looking to be worth an increasingly large sum of money, both teams are stated to be confident of a transfer going through this summer.
