Arsenal appear to be keen on landing a new central defender this summer, and the latest man to be linked with a move is Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to an exclusive report from Italian news outlet TMW, the Gunners have made an approach to sign the Frenchman. However, Napoli are keen to keep hold of their star man ahead of next season, and have rebuffed their approach.
Koulibaly has established himself as one of Serie A’s most impressive central defenders in recent times, and flourished under Maurizio Sarri last season.
This has only prompted more interest in his services this summer, with Arsenal evidently interested in him.
Koulibaly has previously been linked with moves to both Chelsea and Everton, but no move has ever come to fruition.
Sarri will be hoping that this is the end of Arsenal’s interest and that his key defender is raring to go for the 2017/18 campaign.
