Sampdoria lead the race for Jack Wilshere
Italian club Sampdoria have contacted Arsenal over the availability of English international midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to a report on the website of Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Serie A side are keen to bring Wilshere to Italy and Arsenal have asked for a fee of €10m.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at fellow Premier League club Bournemouth, where he started 22 times in the league.
Wilshere failed to get his name on the scoresheet but did register two assists during his loan spell with the Cherries.
The 25-year-old had a promising career ruined by several injuries which kept him out of action for long spells. This meant that he lost his place in the Arsenal team as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger brought in more midfielders.
Wilshere doesn’t look like he will be able to break into the Frenchman’s side next season so is most likely to leave the Emirates this summer.
Wilshere will want to play as many games as possible and to remain fit as long as he can to ensure he has a good chance of being in the England squad for the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Sampdoria are yet to make an official bid but with Arsenal’s valuation pretty low, there may be one coming very soon.
