‘Offers will be heard’ for Arsenal target Lacazette
Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette is still actively pursuing an exit from current club Lyon as the club’s president Jean-Michel Aulas admits that “offers will be heard” for the French striker, according to a report on the Mirror.
The striker seemed to prefer a move to Atletico Madrid but the Spanish club have a transfer ban preventing them from registering new players, therefore the move broke down.
So now Lacazette is looking for a new home and that could potentially be the Emirates. However, Lacazette isn’t the Gunners’ primary transfer target as manager Arsene Wenger wants Monaco’s young forward Kylian Mbappe.
Should that move break down, then Wenger will put everything he has in luring Lacazette to the Premier League side. Lyon president Aulas has been adamant that the club will wait until the maximum offer is made for the 26-year-old.
“He wants to leave. We will discuss it in the coming weeks. If so, offers will be heard, provided they match the value of the player,” said Aulas
“We have not received any concrete offers for Lacazette up to now but that could happen at any moment.”
The Lyon front man scored 37 goals in all competitions for the French side and his incredible form has seen various European clubs interested in his signature.
The player himself is also ready to move but the transfer fee will need to be large for Lyon to accept an offer. His exit seems more likely now after Lyon signed Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore who is possibly the replacement to Lacazette.
Traore signed for £10m from the Premier League club after a very successful loan spell at Europa League finalists Ajax.
