Giroud could go to Lyon as part of Lacazette deal
Olivier Giroud has been in contact with the president of Lyon over a possible move this summer, with Alexandre Lacazette’s potential transfer to Arsenal gathering pace, according to The Independent’s latest report.
Talks have been ongoing between Arsenal and Lyon over Lacazette’s situation, however, the Gunners are yet to match Lyon’s valuation of £57 million for the French striker.
If the transfer goes through, the Ligue 1 side will be desperate to find a replacement ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas admitted to French paper L’Equipe that they would be interested in signing Giroud.
There has been an approach, at some point, for Giroud, he is a boy that we like, who scores lots of goals and who has a lot of ambition for Russia.
However, Giroud has told Aulas that he still holds hopes that he will be the number one striker at the Emirates next season.
