West Ham eye move for Arsenal forward
Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott is attracting interest from West Ham this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror recently, the Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options and have identified Walcott as the perfect man to do so.
Ever since Arsene Wenger opted to alter his formation to one that entailed a back three, Walcott has fallen out of favour. The preferred front three has been Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and either Danny Welbeck or Olivier Giroud, keeping Walcott out of the team when available.
It’s claimed in the report that Walcott is valued at £25m by Arsenal, which is a price that would smash West Ham’s record transfer fee.
The 28-year-old will need to be playing consistent football in the top flight if he is to make England’s squad for next year’s World Cup, and this could spell a move away.
Walcott will hope that whether it be at West Ham, Arsenal, or elsewhere, he is starting games next season.
