Arsenal face fight to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan
Sporting Lisbon have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, according to talkSPORT.
The want-away midfielder has been long attracting interest from the Gunners as he looks likely to leave the Nou Camp this summer.
However, reports in Turkey express that Sporting Lisbon are also very keen to tie up a deal for the 30-year-old Barcelona outcast.
Sporting have reportedly already made their desire for Turan’s services known to Barcelona as they look to hijack Arsenal’s deal for the Turkish international.
Turan has been a bit-part player for Barcelona since securing a move to the Nou Camp from Atletico Madrid in 2015, making just 14 La Liga appearances last season, and Sky Sports report that Arsenal are preparing a big money bid for the player.
Turan has three years left on his contract at the Nou Camp but looks unlikely to feature in new Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde’s plans for next season.
Arsenal must act quickly to fight off any rival interest in Turan if they are to secure a deal for the Barcelona star this summer.
