Ozil considering move to Besiktas
Arsenal’s talented number 10 is said to have told Besiktas he’ll consider joining the Turkish club for the right price.
According to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Ozil met with Besiktas official Umut Guner, who was told a £350,000-per-week contract would be enough to tempt the German international away from the north London club.
Ozil’s current contract is set to expire in 2018, with no sign of an extension in sight.
Arsenal seem reluctant to break their current wage structure by paying Mesut Ozil and fellow contract rebel Alexis Sanchez the sums they are seeking, however, goalkeeper Petr Cech has pleaded the club to do what’s needed to keep their stars from leaving elsewhere.
With the north London club missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification for the first time in 20 years by failing to finish in the Premier League’s top four. Ozil took to Twitter and made sure to note the near miss after Sundays 3-1 win over Everton:
