After their empathic 4-0 demolition of Swansea last weekend, Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend.
Arsene Wenger’s side welcome Burnley to the Emirates Stadium, who will be feeling positive after their narrow 1-0 win over Southampton last week.
Avoiding defeat on Sunday would make it five games unbeaten in the Premier League for the Gunners.
Wenger’s men have seemingly turned a corner after their defeat to Manchester City.
The Gunners currently sit eight points off of league leaders Chelsea and will be hoping for a good result this weekend as they look to close that gap.
The Blues are in action against strugglers Hull and Arsenal know they will need a result on Sunday to maintain the pressure on Antonio Conte’s side.
Ahead of this weekend’s clash, we’ve tried to predict who Wenger might field on Sunday to take all three points and continue their good run of form.
GK - Petr Cech
An obvious starter, Cech is by far Arsenal’s number one.
RB - Hector Bellerin
Bellerin could start on Sunday after returning to training following his injury against Bournemouth.
CB - Skhodran Mustafi
The German is really starting to show signs of a true central defensive partnership.
CB - Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal’s rock and their leader, he starts for sure.
LB - Nacho Monreal
Kieran Gibbs is returning to full fitness but Monreal is a clear starter.
Gibbs’ days at Arsenal look numbered.
CM - Aaron Ramsey
Did well during the 4-0 win over Swansea and deserves to keep his place.
He was unlucky not to score against the Welsh side.
CM - Granit Xhaka
Beginning to really shine in this Arsenal team, alongside Ramsey, cementing his place in the XI.
RW - Alex Iwobi
Wenger could go with Lucas Perez to add some firepower, but if Burnley plan to sit deep, they need someone that’s going to be a constant threat.
Iwobi’s movement and speed will do that better than the more static Perez.
CAM - Mesut Ozil
An obvious choice, if Arsenal want to unlock Burnley’s defence, he’s your man.
LW - Alexis Sanchez
He has to start, right?
ST - Oliver Giroud
It’s likely that Burnley won’t be doing much attacking on Sunday.
Starting Giroud gives Wenger the option of going long.
