West Brom place £25 million price tag on Evans
As is becoming a regular occurrence with Arsenal lately, they have yet again been linked with another defender. Furthermore, as has happened with almost every target so far, the asking price has been increased by the parent club.
According to Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion will now only consider selling Jonny Evans for a fee of over £25 million.
Although Evans has played well for West Brom since his move from Man Utd, the fee quoted is likely to put Arsenal off.
It now means that Arsenal face an up hill battle to sign any player before the deadline. Valencia are now playing hardball over Mustafi, Man Utd will not be selling Phil Jones and Arsenal are yet to bid for Southampton defender, Jose Fonte.
If Arsenal were not to sign any player, let alone a defender, from now to the deadline, it would surely set them well behind their rivals.
